We apologize for any delays you're experiencing with your order. Due to an increased order volume and shipping delays due to new safety measures in place around our campus, it's taking longer than usual for Lodge website orders to ship. Seasoning is just oil baked onto the pan. This layer of carbonized oil gives cast iron cookware a natural, easy-release finish. We use 100% vegetable oil to season our cast iron cookware right in the foundry so each item ships to you ready to use, right out of the box.
Simply clean and oil your cookware after every use. Rubbing oil into your pan after each use ensures the seasoning remains intact for quality cooking.
While cast iron cookware is cast in sand molds, carbon steel products are formed by spinning and stamping carbon steel, allowing them to be lighter and thinner than cast iron.
